Del Piero to bring Sydney FC to Jesolo “Tevez, wear that No.10 with love”

The former Juventus hero persuaded his Australian club to hold their training camp at the town he used to visit as a child: “I won my first cups here... playing bowls”

The Padova-Sydney match on August 7 won’t just be a common-or-garden summer friendly. Alessandro Del Piero has managed to convince his new club to hold their training camp in Jesolo, the town he used to visit for his summer holidays as a child.

JESOLO — Same town. Same hotel. But a lot more grown up now: “It’s like a circle that is closing. Things could have gone better or worse, but I've no regrets. I only live for today,” Ale told reporters. “Coming back is the realisation of a dream. Here, I won my first cups... playing bocce! [a form of bowls – Ed]” Sydney FC will be in Jesolo from August 2 to 22, and they’ll play four friendly games.
TEVEZ — At more or less the same time, Tevez will be hoping he is well on his way to establishing himself as the focal point of the Juventus attack: “The No.10 shirt? I hope he wears the shirt with love and I thank him for the nice comments he said at the start of his first press conference,” Del Piero said. “Juve start favourites for the Scudetto, but I’m not too sure about the Champions League... especially with so many clubs making so many changes this summer. Things will be very competitive.”
PELLEGRINI — His final comment was reserved for Federica Pellegrini, who, via Twitter, said that she wants to invite Alex to her 25th birthday party (she was born on August 5, 1988): “I do hope I can wish her a happy birthday,” Del Piero said, smiling, “I know that Federica is a big Juventus fan – I’ll invite her to come to the Sydney training camp!”
